"Walking In the
Footsteps of Jesus"

St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska, is excited to host Vacation Bible School (VBS), July 31 – August 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church, located at 1315 1st Ave, South Sioux City.


Maria Gomez, St. Michael’s Catholic Church’s Parish Coordinator, stated youth (also known as “campers”) entering 1st – 6th grade in August 2023 are invited to “pack their lunch bag, grab their passport (Bible), and ‘Walk in the Footsteps of Jesus.’”


The campers will travel to Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, and Calvary. Their travels include Bible study, crafts, music, games, snacks, and more.


VBS is limited to the first fifty (50) campers.


Preference will be given to students from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, parishes in Northeast Nebraska, and Siouxland in that order.


Youth leaders (“tour guides”) who will be entering 7th-9th grade in August 2023, are needed to serve as group leaders, station assistants, and more.


Adult leaders are needed to ensure the pilgrims have a fabulous experience!


The registration deadline is Tuesday, July 11, at 5 p.m.


Registration is:

  • $50 for the first child,

  • $97.50 for two children, and

  • $142.50 for three children.

  • An additional $2 per child will be charged if debit or credit card is used to pay the registration fees.

  • The registration fee is waived for younger siblings of group leaders.


Scholarships are also available for families needing assistance.
