Fraternal Charity - September 27, 2023

Wednesday, September 27 at 4 p.m. on Siouxland Catholic Radio 88.1 FM, in Fred and Kara's discussion on chapter 6, they take up the topic of "Fraternal Charity."

Fred states, "We read the words, 'Love Him, first of all, with an immense love; then read in His eyes and in His heart what you must be for others...' What IS the Lord calling us to be for others? Who are those others? How might we respond to this call in your own lives?"

Fred and Kara also discuss the role our evaluation of the intentions of others and the practice of empathy play in our interior lives.

Finally, Fred and Kara land on one of the most striking passages in the entire book, "We must forget ourselves. A person who forgets himself brings joy to those around him... The spiteful person starts putting facts together which in reality are totally unrelated..." How can we "forget ourselves?"
