14th anniversary mass
March 24, 2022

To celebrate Siouxland Catholic Radio’s 14th anniversary, the station is inviting individuals to the noon Mass, Thursday, March 24 at Cathedral of the Epiphany, Sioux City.

St. Gabriel Communications, Ltd., better known as Siouxland Catholic Radio, 88.1 FM, began broadcasting on February 5, 2008, at 10 a.m.

March 24 is the feast of St. Gabriel, an angel who serves as a messenger

for God.

The station began as an idea in the mid-1990s, springing out of a weekly

prayer group hosted by Father Harold Cooper, a priest of the Diocese of Sioux City.

The station adopted the call letters, KFHC, to pay tribute to Father Cooper, who died shortly before the station went on the air. The station took the corporate name, St. Gabriel Communications, after the patron saint of communications.

According to Board President John Fitzsimmons, that day's Mass intention will be for the station's benefactors and underwriters.

Staff and volunteers will be present to thank all Mass attendees for their prayerful support.

No reception is planned after Mass.
